We have two Wii's for use on large flat screen T.V's

  1. Warm up before starting any vigorous Wii fitness play
  2. Always wear and secure remote wrist strap.
  3. Players must be cognizant of their play space and any unintentional contact (accidentally hitting someone with your remote for example) may result in expulsion
  4. Heckling and excessive jeering is discouraged
  5. Players may not seek advice during game play unless approved. Only one coach per game.
  6. Onlookers must stay out of play area and refrain from disruptive behavior.
  7. Players are expected to carry own equipment necessary for play (i.e. remote, nunchuk, dance pad, extra batteries, etc.)
  8. Keep food/drink/cigarettes away from play area/equipment.
  9. No hostile physical contact among players. Whatsoever. Violaters may be expelled
  10. Only play if you know how to play the game, are a quick learner, or are immune to public humiliation.

Make sure you practice before engaging in friendly competition. There are highly skilled players out there, of all ages, who take their game seriously and are looking to connect with other players willing to play by the Wii fitness rules.

Routine warmup

  1. Yoga/deep breathing: Repeat three times. Breathing deeply is a great warm up and suitable for everybody and can be done sitting as well.
  2. Yoga/sun salutation: Repeat one to three times. Check your body's current range of motion. The sun salutation can be done at a matching pace with the on-screen Avatar or performed with modified movements at your pace.
  3. Yoga/half moon: One or more times.
  4. Strength training:torso twists: One or more times. Be gentle with your twists; remember this is just a warm up.

Playing slow music to accompany your warm up encourages fluid movements and supports a gradual increase in your heart rate. The warm up routine can range from five to 30 minutes, depending on how you feel. You can also use the same routine as a cool down, especially essential if you have engaged in a high intensity/high impact workout.

Don't let your enthusiasm and excitement for the new Wii games you got for Christmas result in injury. Warm up before active Wii play.
